Testimonies
We strongly protect the privacy of all our patients from Foundation922. Below are beautiful testimonies of amazing women we have been honored to know, serve and love…
“Just like the cover of a book, first impressions are so important. The way we present ourselves, how we dress and especially our smile let people know who we are and what we are all about. In real life, the “cover” of people can often misrepresent who they really are. First impressions individuals give to others could greatly influence how they are treated and viewed in everyday life. People make judgments within seconds of meeting us.
I am a graduate from Refuge for Women (RFW). RFW is a faith based anti human trafficking organization that helps to restore the lives of the women. RFW is the nation's largest housing program for victims of human trafficking and sexual exploitation. I was brought to Illinois from North Carolina scared, nervous, and alone. At this time, I was a new resident feeling a great deal of shame and guilt. The way I looked made this even worse. Almost all of my teeth were broken, rotting or just non existent. I had learned different ways to hold my mouth so people couldn't see my teeth. If I ever needed a tooth fairy it was now. RFW took me to a place where dentists volunteered their time and gifts to help those who are in great need of dental care. Because of fear, insecurities and embarrassment my first appointment didn't go well. On my second appointment I didn't want to go back but knew I HAD to. I prayed for God to send me a servant heart, someone who could understand and take all of my fears into consideration. To have a servant heart means to put other’s needs ahead of our own and to put God's will first. When I got to my appointment my prayers were answered. A voice behind me said “ Hi, I'm Jessica.” The care that I received from Dr. Jess was above anything I could have asked for or imagined. She helped to restore the “cover” to my book. She gave me mercy and grace. She made me feel comfortable, loved and cared for. Since meeting Dr. Jess, my life has changed in so many ways. Everytime I look in the mirror and I smile, I see God's grace looking back at me. Dr. Jess helped to restore my self confidence and dignity. 1 Peter 4:10 says, “Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace.” The compassion that she showed for a perfect stranger was heartwarming, motivating and a true testament to God’s hands and feet. Jesus has sent us into the world to be His hand and feet to people everywhere. He expects us to give to others because when good people do nothing injustice thrives. I believe she uses her gifts for the goodness of God, don't judge a book by its cover. Thank you Dr. Jess for never judging me and giving me a new SMILE at life.”

“Our residents absolutely love Dr. Jess and her team, and of course, her comfort dogs. Many of the ladies need extensive, and often painful, dental work done. Dr. Jess and her staff always treat them with dignity and care. We’re so appreciative of her kindness and generosity to the women of Refuge.”
-Social media quotes
“A resident of Refuge knitted a blanket for the wonderful therapy dog, Bear. We are so grateful for the care and support generously given by Dr. Jess. Such a sweet relationship formed to where this resident wanted to give her time and talent to knit this blanket. THIS is trust! THIS is healing! THIS is restoration!”
